Dr Hooman Eshraghi is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in foot and ankle surgery. He completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005 and qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon from Wits University in 2014. Following his graduation, he undertook a Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Unit in Johannesburg under Professor Nikiforos Saragas and Dr Paulo Ferrao.
He recently attended an observership in Minnesota, United States, with the world-renowned foot and ankle surgeon Dr Chris Coetzee. Dr Eshraghi also regularly attends local and international congresses, meetings and workshops to remain at the forefront of the latest techniques and innovations for his patients.
His special interests include foot and ankle sports injuries, reconstructive surgery and orthopaedic trauma. He has also been involved with many sports teams over the past several years, treating athletes from numerous PSL football clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs F.C. and Mamelodi Sundowns F.C.
Dr Eshraghi is a member of the South African Orthopaedic Association (SAOA) and the South African Foot Surgeons Association (SAFSA). He has been in private practice since 2015 and currently practises at Morningside Mediclinic and Netcare Waterfall Hospital.
